As a direct replacement for 250W metal halides, the 137W Epoch VIII's unique thermal management system allows it to perform well at temperatures in excess of 45 °C and maintain a lifetime over 60,000 hours.
The unique heat pipe cooling system in our LED spotlights allows each lamp to perform well at temperatures in excess of 45 degrees Celsius.
The 137W Epoch VIII replaced 250W mercury vapour lamps that actually consume close to 307W due to driver losses. As such, the energy saved per unit is in the region of 55%.
The old mercury vapour lamps were failing due to high ambient temperatures. In a 3-story high processing area, replacing failed lamps meant shutting down operations. With a lifetime of over 60,000 hours, even in high temperatures, our LED replacements offer an enormously reduced fail rate.
Light Planet was asked to provide a low maintenance lighting solution for use in the processing area of Westbury Dairies powdered milk plant. Westbury Dairies consisted of a three-story high processing area, where liquid milk is dried to form powdered milk. The facility was lit by 20 250W Mercury Vapour lamps, situated 16 metres above the area. The lamps were frequently failing due to high ambient temperatures and were very hard to access for servicing. Each time a lamp needed replacement, the plant was shut down to erect scaffolding, resulting in major disruption to business.
We replaced the lamps with 20 Neobulb Epoch VIII 137W high bay LED lighting fixtures that benefit from a unique heat pipe cooling system that allows for each lamp to perform well at temperatures in excess of 45 degrees C. The long life of the fixture (over 60,000 hours), the energy reduction (65%) and above all, the maintenance free operation, made it an easy decision for Westbury Dairies to transition to our unique LED technology
